Tie Fork Visitors Center

KSL 5 News recently highlighted the Tie Fork Visitors Center as the top rest stop in the nation. The award was made from a competition sponsored by the American Institute of Architects for the new rest stop located on U.S. route 6 at mile marker 202. The Tie Fork rest stop is set up as an old railroad station and even includes a full size train. Travelers taking U.S. 6 from Green River Utah to Utah County have a unique and interesting place to stop during their trip. We’re proud to have been a part of the project. Take a look at the news article – you can see the split rail fencing we installed in some of the photographs.

CFC Fences & Decks teamed up as a subcontractor with Cameron Construction for the Utah Department of Transportation Commercial Project to install a split rail fence. The rustic look of the natural cedar split rail fence provides an extra feature to the visitor center that resembles the old time fences of the early 1900’s. The split rail fence installation began June 9, 2010 and was finished ten days later on June 19, 2010. Approximately 246 post holes were dug and a split rail fence was installed in less than 135 labor hours.

Tie Fork Visitor Center has been constructed by Cameron Construction along with the help of CFC Fences & Decks that installed the 1700’ linear foot split rail fence that wraps around the beautiful visitor center.

Nestled in Spanish Fork canyon, the Spanish Fork Tie Fork Visitor Center has been erected. The classy design of the visitor center is in remembrance of the old existing town of Tucker, UT that was located two miles south of the newly constructed visitor center.  The small town of tucker consisted of nearly 200 people and was supported by a locomotive depot and the Scofield and Pleasant Valley rail systems.

Remember to take an extra peek at the split rail fence on your next stop to the Tie Fork Visitor Center and how it helps brings out the architectural design of the Tie Fork Visitor Center. Split rail fences and many other fence materials and installations are available through CFC Fences & Decks.
